Following last week's similar Senate vote, the U.S. House has voted to repeal regulations governing consumer privacy protection at Internet service providers.
A mostly party-line vote went 215-205 for repeal.
The regulations had been approved last October in the Tom Wheeler-led FCC; the agency is now led by Republican Ajit Pai.
If passed into law, the repeal will again allow service providers to sell consumer information including browsing history without customer consent.
Major providers opposed the restrictions at the time, and will benefit from looser rules:
T, VZ, CMCSA, CHTR, OTCPK:ATCEY, FTR, CTL, WIN, CCOI.
